Searching for Oxygen

She was awakened by the sound of the fire alarm and the smell of smoke. She felt the burn in her chest and the lack of oxygen. Grabbing her children each from their beds, she crawled to the front door with her lips against the hot wood. Above them, the flames ran across the ceiling consuming the room.

Through the memories of my mother, I recreated the series of events of the house fire that happened to my family on September, 14th 2001. These images depict specific moments of the fight against the flames.
